The surgery itself is usually finished within about an hour, and Dr. Lenny closes with fine dissolvable sutures, so there is nothing to remove later.
Trim or Wedge: Choosing the Technique
The trim method removes excess tissue along the edge of the labia minora and can also reduce darker pigmentation at the border. It is the most widely used approach and produces a clean, predictable edge. The wedge method removes a pie-shaped section from the middle of the labia and brings the edges together, which preserves the natural border and its original color.

Recovery, Results, and the Next Step
Most women take it easy for about a week and manage any soreness with ice and over-the-counter medication. Swelling and tenderness are normal at first and ease gradually, with the bulk settling over roughly six weeks. Desk work is often comfortable within a few days, while strenuous exercise, cycling, and intimacy generally wait until you are further along in healing. Dr. Lenny will give you specific guidance on hygiene, activity, and timing based on how you are recovering.
