Breast Augmentation Options at our Miami surgical center

Options For Breast Augmentation

Miami Plastic Surgeon Dr. Leonard Roudner has performed thousands of Breast Augmentations over his career. In fact, it is his most common procedure requested and his specialty. There are many reasons why women might want to have their breast enhanced. Most women undergo surgery in order to improve their self-esteem, because having a larger bust helps them to feel more attractive and feminine.

Many women can go through emotional pain during their adolescent and young adult years because their breasts did not develop to be the same size as their peers. On the other hand, some women may have what they feel to be an ample bust size, but may still want to undergo breast augmentation surgery to enhance what they already have, creating symmetry and proportion, and increasing fullness and volume. This is because the breasts can change drastically due to aging, weight loss or pregnancy.

There are a few techniques that Dr. Roudner can use to create that shapely look that you are seeking. If you are considering plastic surgery, it is crucial that you know what to expect beforehand. Major surgery is a major step, so you want to be prepared. During your consultation, in our Miami surgery center, Dr. Roudner will be sure to answer any and all questions you may have about your potential surgery.

Are Breast Implants Dangerous?

Many people mistakenly believe that all breast implants are dangerous because of the silicone implant scare in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The US Government temporarily removed silicone implants from the market in 1992 because they caused patient complications. Now silicone gel-filled implants are available again. The FDA has recently approved silicone implants, and they are safe to use if your doctor feels that you are a good candidate for them. Experts agree however, that Silicone implants are not right for all patients.

Most women in the US that get an augmentation will end up getting saline filled breast implants. Saline is a sterile saltwater formula, and is very safe. If the implant ruptures and leaks, saline will not cause complications in your body like silicone can, and the saltwater is absorbed into the body. The implant has an outer shell make of silicone, and the liquid inside is sterile saltwater.
